The Cambrian gDNA kit isolates high-quality genomic DNA from a wide variety of sample types including Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE).
The kit is built on magnetic nanoparticles – CamBeads Si – which reduces the processing time and provides better DNA yield and purities.
The extracted DNA can be directly used in downstream applications such as Next Generation Sequencing, qPCR, PCR across molecular diagnostics, proteomics, oncology research, and academic experiments.
Sample pre-processing:
- Take 3-4 curls of 10 microns of FFPE sample and place them in a 1.5 ml centrifuge tube.
- Add 0.3 mL of de-paraffinization buffer to the sample tube, vortex for 5-10 seconds, and incubate at 80°C for 2 minutes.
- Add 0.2mL of lysis buffer (TLB) along with 30uL of reconstituted Proteinase K .
- Vortex the sample tube for 5-10 seconds and centrifuge the same at 10,000 RPM for 20-30 seconds.
- Place the sample tubes on a thermomixer/heat block at 56°C for 16 hours.
- Place the sample tube as is at 90°C for 1 hour.
- Use the aqueous (or the bottom layer) for DNA extraction.
